I’d find a road
Of empty lanes
Whose fractured pavement
Bends to me,
A path to fall
Itinerant
And desperate is my way.
I’d take it in
A mind to quench
This thirst for burdened
Sojourns over places
Played like memories
Of unsuccessful games.
I’d walk it cold,
And hollow steps
Would travesty the cost,
A vacant road of
Buckled stones and blanking
Consequences stretching miles
And I’ll keep walking
Always wanting to be lost.
