I count them like the drips of wax,
These days to burn,
To burn as so much light
And so much worry.

I keep them wordless,
Mornings worth their weight
In bleeding sunrise,
So their lies lay east;
And, speaking, I’ll make haste
To take the wick a bit too serious,
These days to burn,
I’ll tally them with wax-drips.
