Black to take for reference points,
And black to plead my faith.
Black to make intemperate
A choice to put the fires out
And black to lack conviction,
So in black to stay awake.
Black upon a skyline yet,
With black to touch for hope.
Black as every trying breath
To blow the lovely morning back
And black to find a better place;
In black to be alone.
Black to justify the grounds,
And black for sake of mind.
Black to make a peace for folding
Hands I should’ve played today,
And black to burn the building down
For black it leaves behind.
