I think I’ll venture where these leading lines oblige, that distant field of vision where the vast expanse is fixed into a needle point and inessential angles seem to join around an apex understood but nonetheless too narrow to distinguish with an eye, that singular convergence where a universe of urges is abridged to fit the pigment in a grain of salted breath exhaled across the nexus of the ocean and the sky, the spot where I can almost see the infant storm ensue and, when it’s through, where maybe I can finally hear it sigh. I think I’ll wager what I’ve got right here in open air and dare to speculate that at the center of this stretch, at least as best as I can tell, the weather might be not-so-well but that seems more compelling than the story of a traveler who’s staying warm and dry.
